Banana-eating anti-racism campaign gaining momentum

Interesting to see anti-racism campaign which followed Alves picking banana thrown at him up and eating it. It has gone viral all over the world.

A banana was thrown at Brazilian international Alves. He responded by peeling and eating the banana during the match at Villarreal on Sunday.

His actions were backed by footballers and celebrities across the world as support flooded in from fellow professionals posting pictures of themselves with bananas on to the internet.

Spanish police have arrested a man for allegedly throwing a banana at Barcelona defender Dani Alves during a football match at the weekend.

Having children is main reason to commit adultery for 82 per cent of male cheaters

A survey of more than 5,000 cheating men reveals that 78 per cent of the respondents are in their first marriage, and that 82 per cent of them began to be unfaithful after having children.

Here are some of the common reasons men gave for their infidelity:
1. Sex with their partner stopped being passionate after the baby came.
 2. Excuse that the lack of sleep commonly experienced by parents of young children had led to problems in the bedroom which had caused them to stray.
3. Spouse turned all of their attention to the children and this lack of attention led to their infidelity.
4. Economic problems
5. Family issues

Sugar daddy? Lover?

Roberto Cavalli, 73 and girlfriend

Some women fall deeply in love with older men. Some just love the experience and excitement that comes with dating older men especially if the man is wealthy. There are different reasons why younger women date or marry older men. I read an experience of a lady that dated several older men. She said for a while it was very exciting but as time went on, they had little in common and it actually became boring. several aspects that came with old age on the man's side drove them apart.  Now, she would never consider dating an older man.

I saw the picture of Roberto Cavalli, 73, with his young girlfriend and curiosity just got the best part of me. I wanted to know what attracted her to him. Have you ever dated an older guy? I mean guys in their late 60s and 70s. It will be interesting to read about your experience.

The betrayal of a best friend

How well do you know your 'best friend'?

A wealthy pilot told yesterday how he was kidnapped and blackmailed for £1million by his best friend. Zahid Khan was ambushed as he visited Rizwan Jahangir to show off his new Rolls-Royce, worth £250,000. The 28 year old said Jahangir and three other men blindfolded him and bundled him into a car.

He was held at gunpoint for more than seven hours as the gang ordered him to hand over £1million in exchange for his life. Mr Khan persuaded the men to accept £10,000, which they collected from his relatives. Long story cut short, Jahangir and three others were jailed for a total of 41 years at Birmingham crown court. Jahangir who was the ring leader was jailed for 13 years after he was found guilty.

Mr Khan said that he grew up with Jahangir and they had known each other for 15 years before the betrayal.

Some so called 'besties' are just there in one's life to see what they can gain from one. Some are so full of envy just like this case shows. Poor guy wanted his friend to share the joys of his success but instead, his 'friend' showed his true colours by kidnapping him. Do you have stories of 'best friend' betrayal.

Yaya Toure says he deserves more recognition.

Yaya Toure

Manchester City and Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure thinks he is not regarded as one of the best players in the world because he is from Africa.

He feels countryman Didier Drogba and Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o are also undervalued because they are African.

The 30-year-old says some people still regard Africans as "animals not human beings".

Club-mate Samir Nasri recently said Toure would be celebrated as one of the world's best midfielders if he was not African.

In an exclusive interview for Football Focus on BBC World News, Toure said: "I think what Samir was saying was definitely true."

"To be honest, proper recognition has only come from the fans," said the three-time African player of the year. "I don't want to be hard and I don't want to be negative, but I want to be honest."

Toure feels the media should do more to promote African players.
"If we play well and we don't have the recognition from the media, we are not going to be where we want to be," he said.

Who agrees with this?

South Korea ferry sinks

Such a sad day for South Korea.

According to BBC news, almost 300 people remain unaccounted for after a ferry carrying 459 people capsized and sank off South Korea.
The ferry, carrying mainly school students, was travelling from the port of Incheon, in the north-west, to the southern resort island of Jeju.
A major rescue effort is under way, involving dozens of ships and helicopters. Those brought to safety were taken to a nearby island.

'Mass abduction' at Nigerian school

It is reported that around 100 girls are thought to have been abducted in an attack on a school in North East Nigeria. Gunmen reportedly arrived at the school in Chibok, Borno state, late last night, and ordered the hostel's teenage residents on to lorries.

The attackers are believed to be from Islamist group, Boko Haram.

I am so sickened by this news. I pray they do not harm these little girls. The pain and cries of the parents and loved ones must be heartbreaking.  As a mother I feel sick reading this story. What is going to happen to these little girls? Only God knows. Please do say a little prayer for the girls, for the victims of yesterday's bombing and for Nigeria.

Thandie Newton is my star of the week

I read about the racism Thandie Newton, 41, suffered as a child growing up in Cornwall. She didn't let it define her neither did she allow it to stop her dreams. She went on to become one of the most celebrated female stars. So proud of Thandie's achievements!!!

British High Commissioner to Nigeria among those who donated blood to victims of blast today

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Andrew Pocock was among those who donated blood to the victims of the blast in Nigeria. He was seen at the National Blood Transfusion Centre, Wuse 3, Abuja this afternoon donating blood. There is still goodness in this world. God bless everyone that donated blood and helped in one way or the other.

Warning: Graphic images below:

Words fail me. I cannot begin to imagine or understand what the beasts behind this think they will achieve by killing innocent people. Words fail me to describe these demonic creatures who enjoy spilling the blood of innocent people. Whatever ones political stand, religious beliefs or philosophy, It does not give one an authority to take life. May all the innocent people who died rest in peace. I hope the Nigerian government will not over look this as they tend to.

Does the sexuality of a teacher affect his/her ability to teach?

I just read that a gay assistant head teacher says he has been forced to resign after complaints from religious parents relating to his sexuality.

Andrew Moffat claimed Muslim and Christian parents objected to him teaching their children because they didn’t want pupils learning that homosexuality was ‘ok’

‘Human Barbie’ claims interracial couples are ‘making the human race uglier’

Valeria Lukyanova

Valeria Lukyanova, 28, dubbed the ‘Human Barbie’, made an outrageous remark during an interview for men’s magazine GQ. She told the magazine: ‘Ethnicities are mixing now, so there’s degeneration, and it didn’t used to be like that.’

Does this woman know what she is talking about? Well, I don’t believe many people will take her seriously. This is coming from someone who claimed she is ‘not human’ and is capable of surviving on energy from the sun rather than food.

Appalling as Nigerian airline, Arik, kept passengers hostage for hours on plane without any explanation

This video has been going viral on many Nigerian blogs. I didn't know what to make of it when I first saw it. But surely, the passengers should know better than staging a protest in that situation. Felt sorry for the kids.

Now ladies!! Dencia hits out on Lupita again

Lupita Nyong'o

Dencia

This is beyond appalling. Black successful women should aim to be positive role models and not making a mockery of their achievements. Dencia please take note. Dencia has hit out at Lupita Nyong'o for her new contract with Lancome, accusing her of bowing to 'white people companies'.

In an angry tweet directed at the 12 Years A Slave star, she wrote: 'Oh @Lupita_Nyongo cln't talk abt the bleaching creams white people (Companies) make cuz the white man pays her, they own her!! [sic]'.

The comment is one of her hit backs after Miss Nyong'o mentioned Dencia - who has been accused of marketing her own brand of skin-bleaching cream called Whitenicious - in a speech about learning to value the color of her own skin.
