First-time novelist who was rejected by publishers for 10 years wins one of world's top literary awards
Despite being rejected by every publisher, Irish author Eimear McBride, never gave up. Her novel 'A Girl Is A Half-Formed Thing' was written 10 years ago. Her work was rejected by publishers for a decade. However, delay was not denial in her case. A small company in McBride's hometown of Norwich finally agreed to release it last year. She won the £30,000 Women's Prize for Fiction.
Morale of this real life story is never give up no matter how many knock backs, rejections or 'NO' you get. Keep focused and you will surely achieve your dreams. This story shows it happens. Well done Eimear McBride.
