Mixed race couples on the rise in England and Wales.

Figures reveal that almost one in ten of all couples living together in England and wales are of mixed ethnicity. According to the Office for National Statistics, around 2.3 million married or cohabiting partners are in an inter-ethnic relationship. The younger generation make up the majority of those in mixed relationship, many of whom had parents from different ethnic backgrounds. 

The biggest difference between the sexes was found in Chinese group where women were almost twice as likely as men to be with someone from a different ethnicity.
