The show of 'altruistic and benevolence' pretending individuals who show how 'wonderful' they are, how caring they are of issues pertaining to human betterment but underneath, are the devil incarnates, intrigues me. You see them in churches, in organisations, in charity events all pandering to those that they will gain favour from. Sleek and dangerous as poisonous snakes to those individuals that they find threatening. They exhume arrogance and like to show you that you shouldn't have the same rights, same status, same audience as themselves. They want to put you in your place. How dare you have a voice? Just because you got a little promotion you are now growing wings. They muster to your hearing that they will put you a peg or two down so that you know your place. When they see that you are actually intelligent, your silence is not foolishness, they begin to throw jibes, make fun, belittle so that they feel superior.
Nothing irks me like someone who thinks that they are superior and treats others as mud. One of the reasons that I will never let another human being dictate to me righteousness or put me in their own thwarted stratification of superiority.
But I learn every day! The world is not a kind place! However, the world is also full of good and kind people and their thoughts and friendship are all that matters. Sure, nastiness will come our way, sure people are going to try to put us a peg or two down, but this can only happen if we allow them. They may have a majority of support but with our stoic and unmoveable determination, we stay and fight for our place as human beings. Nothing less!
